1) This is my Zoozii lentil press. I got it from
Sunlight Glass in Surrey
a little while ago and have totally fallen in love with it! It
makes the perfect sized beads for bracelets with the largest press, and
the other two are wonderful for accent beads. I think the
measurements are 14mm, 12mm, and 10mm, but I would have to get back to
you on those numbers.

2) The easiest thing to do to get the proper measurement for
the length of bead you'll need is to take your coated mandrel and mark
the edges of the press on it using a felt marker.

3) Now that you have your marked mandrel, you're ready to
start making your bead. |
4) Start with melting your base bead onto the mandrel - be
careful not to get the mandrel to hot of you'll burn off the felt
markings you've just made. |

| |
5) Get a blob of glass that is kind of football shaped and
heat it until almost molten. |
6) You can test to see if you have enough glass on the
mandrel by turning it like you normally would - if it is uneven, you can
add more glass to certain spots and heat until molten again. |
| |
7) Squish the bead down into the press, being careful not
to break the bead release in the process. |
8) Once you have the bead in the bottom of the press, take
the top of the press, line up the 'Z' in the corner, and drop it down
onto the unsuspecting bead. |
9) Heat in the flame again to take out the chill marks.
If your bead is evenly pressed, you can always start again from step 6.

| 10) The finished lentil bead. All that's
left to do is ream out the bead release to make it sparkle on the inside
(or as much as you can :) |

All of these sets have the two smaller sized
lentils as the complimentary beads...see how nicely they finish the sets
off? |
